Nurse Manager, Emergency Department
Job Title: Nurse Manager – Emergency Department
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11213
Duration: 02/02/2026 – 05/02/2026
Schedule Notes: Evening shift 3:00pm–11:00pm | Must have ED experience | Master’s required | Epic experience required | Minimum 5 years nursing experience
Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Pay Range: $75-$78/hr.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience with management and/or supervisory experience in the Emergency Department.

Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
-
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
-
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
-
Ability to handle complex and difficult situations professionally.
-
Demonstrated ability to improve services, processes, and departmental performance.
Education Requirements:
-
Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-
Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
-
Basic Life Support (BLS).
-
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
-
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
-
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
Job Summary
-
Assumes 24-hour responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within the Emergency Department.

Provides leadership and accountability for planning, directing, and evaluating nursing care.

Oversees daily operations, staffing, scheduling, orientation, training, and performance management.

Monitors quality, patient volume, operational metrics, and customer satisfaction, implementing improvement plans as needed.

Leads quality and performance improvement initiatives and supports evidence-based practice.

Investigates and resolves patient, physician, and staff concerns.

Collaborates with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and equitable patient care.

Ensures staff competency, compliance with policies, and maintenance of a safe care environment.

Participates in departmental and organizational planning and meetings.
-
Performs other related duties as required.
