Job Title: RN Outpatient Surgery - FS
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Contract Duration: 3 Months+ (Possibility of Extension)
Schedule:
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts
- 3 days per week
General Description:
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides competent nursing care to a diverse patient population ranging from simple to complex cases within an outpatient surgical environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments accurately.
- Monitor and act upon any changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor patients’ physiological data and respond promptly to changes.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions and blood products.
- Deliver compassionate and competent patient care.
- Communicate care plans effectively with patients and families throughout hospital stay and discharge.
- Educate patients and families on hospital procedures and post-care requirements.
- Refer patients to appropriate services as necessary.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate patient care effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate well with colleagues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond to diverse cultural and language needs.
- Basic computer proficiency.

Education Requirements:
- Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program.
Certifications & Licensure:
- Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or valid multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
