Job Title: RN Outpatient Surgery - FS
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Contract Duration: 3 Months+ (Possibility of Extension)

Schedule:

• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts
• 3 days per week

 
General Description:
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides competent nursing care to a diverse patient population ranging from simple to complex cases within an outpatient surgical environment.
 
Essential Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments accurately.
• Monitor and act upon any changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor patients’ physiological data and respond promptly to changes.
• Administer medications, including IV infusions and blood products.
• Deliver compassionate and competent patient care.
• Communicate care plans effectively with patients and families throughout hospital stay and discharge.
• Educate patients and families on hospital procedures and post-care requirements.
• Refer patients to appropriate services as necessary.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate patient care effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate well with colleagues.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to respond to diverse cultural and language needs.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Education Requirements:

• Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program.

 
Certifications & Licensure:

• Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or valid multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
