Job Title: RN - Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Portland, ME 04102
Duration: 3 Months+ (Possible Extension)

Shift: Day and Night
Hours: 36 hrs/week; every other weekend
Call Requirements: None
 
Unit & Patient Info:

• 43-bed unit, IMC & Med/Surg patients
• Patient Ratios: IMC 3:1, Day Med/Surg 1:4-5, Night Med/Surg 1:5-6
• Patient Types: Respiratory conditions, Medical Telemetry, Surgical patients, Sepsis, DKA, Altered Mental Status, Failure to Thrive, Respiratory Failure, and acute-on-chronic conditions
• Equipment: Ventilators, BiPaP, CPAP, IV pumps, PCA pumps, Epidural pumps, VAC dressings, specialty beds, trach care, telemetry monitoring
• EMR: Epic

 
Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care for IMC and Med/Surg patients, including ventilated and telemetry patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, manage tracheostomies, and care for complex medical conditions
• Float to other IMC or Med/Surg units as needed, based on unit staffing and skill set
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure patient-centered care and safety

 
Requirements:

• RN license
• Minimum 1–2 years experience in IMC, telemetry, or acute care
• BLS certification
• IMC RNs: Ventilator experience required
• Experience with tracheostomy care and telemetry interpretation
• MMC mandatory onboarding education completion
