RN - Med Surg

Job Title: RN Medical Surgical
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Every Other Weekend
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 34.5 hours (3 shifts per week)
Unit Census: 22 patients, 29-bed unit
Staffing Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
Hourly pay: $60/hr. on W2 (we do offer stipend if you’re 50 miles away)

Role Overview:
As a Clinical Nurse on the 6W Medicine Unit at St. Luke’s, you will deliver safe, competent care based on nursing theory and research. You will play a critical role in patient care, team collaboration, quality improvement, and providing positive patient experience. This position involves working closely with the interdisciplinary team, managing patient care plans, and ensuring optimal care outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Associate degree in Nursing with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program considered.
• Licensure/Certifications:
  • Valid NYS RN License.
  • BLS certification required.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of medical unit experience.
• Skills:
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and patient management skills.
  • Proficiency in documenting nursing practice in electronic health systems.
  • Excellent communication, patient care, and interpersonal skills.
