Job Title: Neurodiagnostic Tech II
Location: Milwaukee, WI 53226
Duration: 3+ Months (Possible Extension)
Shift: Day Shift
Additional Scheduling Notes:
- Friday–Monday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
OR - Friday–Sunday, 3 × 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Work Setting: Acute Care – Neurophysiology Lab
Job Summary:
- Prepares patients for routine and advanced neurodiagnostic procedures, including EEG, EMG, long-term and intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction studies, autonomic testing, WADA, and PET studies.
- Performs neurodiagnostic procedures under limited supervision in laboratory, bedside, and critical care settings across all patient age groups.
- Accurately applies electrodes using the International 10–20 System and ensures electrode impedance meets laboratory standards.
- Collects and documents comprehensive patient histories and explains test procedures to patients and families.
- Prepares equipment, testing supplies, and exam rooms in accordance with laboratory standards.
- Assists with documentation, charge capture, scheduling, and patient check-in as required.
- Reviews and clips EEG and EMU recordings according to laboratory standards.
- Floats to other sites as needed to support department operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent
Licensure & Certifications:
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider or an AHA-approved equivalent (required within 90 days of hire)
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography (EEG)
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technician
- Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing
- Autonomics
- Long Term Monitoring
- Evoked Potentials
- Magnetoencephalography
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
- Registration by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) in at least one of the following:
- Registered Electroencephalography Technologist (EEG)
- Registered Nerve Conduction Velocity Technologist (EMG/NCV)
- Certified Autonomic Professional (CAP)
- Certified Long Term Monitoring Technologist (CLTM)
- Registered Evoked Potential Technologist
