General Duties:
- Meets all eligibility requirements of a Registered Nurse I.
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individualized care in a patient care area according to departmental policies and procedures and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Individualizes patient care based on age-appropriate and developmental needs.
- Accepts responsibility for directing co-workers in implementing the plan of care.
- Collaborates with physicians, patients/families, and the healthcare team in delivering care.
- Utilizes positive communication skills.
- May be required to work on other nursing units based on staffing and patient distribution.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
- Completes nursing assessment of patient and documents appropriately.
- Develops a plan of care based on assessment and age/developmental needs.
- Collaborates with physicians and the healthcare team to develop care plans.
- Provides, delegates, and coordinates the plan of care.
- Initiates, manages, and participates in discharge planning.
- Initiates, manages, and participates in patient/family teaching.
- Demonstrates implementation skills per Policies and Procedures.
- Evaluates and updates patient’s response to the plan of care.
- Maintains professional standards through in-services, committees, and performance improvement activities.
- Facilitates physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual care.
- Utilizes positive communication for conflict resolution and teamwork.
- Contributes to cost-effective care by monitoring use of time, equipment, and supplies.
- Complies with safety policies for a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
- Demonstrates flexibility with changes in hospital or unit activities.
- Demonstrates knowledge/skills necessary for age-appropriate care.
- Acts as preceptor and charge nurse when assigned.
- Actively participates in achieving departmental goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- AHA BLS certification.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in oncology.
- Minimum of 1 year travel experience in the specialty being applied for.
- Epic EMR experience required (minimum 6–12 months within the past year).
- OCN certification.
- Experience as an RN in an Infusion Center.
- Infusion experience strongly preferred.
- Open to floating within cluster/similar department: highly desirable.
Schedule Notes:
- No RTO preferred during 9/15 – 11/26; all time-off requests will be reviewed.
