RN - Operating Room (OR)

Job Summary:

• The operating room nurse is responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures; department admissions to the operative suite.
• Adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques.
• Consults and coordinates with team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans.
• Serves as a communication liaison to patients, families, and member of the operating team.
• Prepares the operating room for the patient and surgical procedure.
• Assembles equipment, supplies, and ensures equipment is functional, and supplies/implants are available.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• PALS, BLS & ACLS – Required.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state/district – Required.

Required Education & Experience:

• OR Experience – Required: 3 Years.
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program – Required.
• BSN – Highly desired.

Additional Requirements:

• Must live within 100 miles.
• On Call: Rotation; approx. 1 day per week and 1 weekend every 5 weeks.
