Shift: 12-Hour Day Shifts | 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
Projected Start Date: July 7, 2025
Projected End Date: September 6, 2025
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years recent PCU RN experience
Position Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract at a hospital in Lewiston, Idaho. The PCU RN is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with complex health conditions who require close monitoring and frequent assessments.
The ideal candidate demonstrates critical thinking, sound clinical judgment, and strong leadership to anticipate and plan safe and effective care. The nurse will utilize the Nursing Process in alignment with the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and professional standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver patient care based on the Nursing Process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Monitor and manage patients requiring intermediate-level care and frequent assessments.

Respond quickly to changes in patient condition with appropriate interventions.

Supervise and delegate responsibilities to licensed and unlicensed staff according to Product and experience.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and safe patient outcomes.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.

Maintain clinical competencies and stay current with continuing education requirements.

Provide leadership, mentorship, and clear communication during the assigned shift.
Required Qualifications:

Licensure: Active Idaho RN license or multi-state compact RN license (must be submitted with application)

Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certifications (must be American Heart Association certified and submitted with application)

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU (Step-down) experience in an acute care hospital setting
