RN - Critical Care Float Pool
Job Title: RN- Critical Care Float Pool
Location: Albany Medical Center, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks (Travel Contract)
Pay range - $70/hr. - $75/hr
We are also offering travel and per diem packages that is based on eligibility.
Schedule Notes:

Work Hours: 36 hours/week (3 x 12.5-hour shifts)

Shift Timing: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM

Weekends: As scheduled

Blocked Scheduling: Not permitted on ICU units
Job Summary:
we are seeking Experienced ICU RNs for its high-acuity, fast-paced Level I Trauma Center. The role involves caring for critically ill patients across various intensive care units and critical holding areas. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, comfortable floating across multiple ICUs, and has prior trauma experience. Familiarity with Epic EMR and a commitment to patient-centered care are essential.
Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive care to ICU-level patients across multiple units including:
-
Neuro/Trauma SICU
-
Medical ICU (MICU)
-
Cardiothoracic/Vascular ICU (CPS/VICU)
-
Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
-
Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCCU)
-
Emergency Department & PACU holding ICU/PCCU patients
-

Perform rapid assessment and intervention in high-pressure trauma scenarios

Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and adjust care based on patient response

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan and execute patient care

Float to other ICUs and critical areas based on hospital needs

Document patient interactions using Epic EMR

Maintain patient safety, comfort, and dignity at all times
Skills & Requirements:
-
Experience: Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience Required
-
Trauma Experience: Experience in a Level I Trauma Center Highly Preferred

Float Experience: Comfortable floating between multiple ICU environments Required
-
EMR: Epic experience Required
-
License: Active New York RN License Required (Pending license not accepted unless noted)

Certifications:

BLS (AHA) Required

ACLS Required
-
CCRN Preferred

Education: Associate s or Bachelor s in Nursing Required
