Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Hours: 40 hours/week

We are seeking an experienced Charge Nurse to coordinate and lead patient care activities during assigned shifts. This role is responsible for maintaining continuity of care, ensuring appropriate staffing based on acuity and census, and supporting nursing standards, unit policies, and hospital procedures. The Charge Nurse plays a key role in patient flow, staff collaboration, and quality outcomes.

The Charge Nurse plays a key role in patient flow, staff collaboration, and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate personnel activities to ensure safe, efficient patient care
- Develop individualized patient care plans using physician orders and nursing processes
- Provide direct patient care and continually evaluate treatment effectiveness
- Assist with discharge planning and patient/family education
- Guide nursing staff and promote adherence to clinical standards
- Document care accurately using approved medical terminology
- Communicate patient observations clearly to appropriate team members
- Respond effectively to patient emergencies
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and environmental standards
- Investigate patient/staff concerns and complete variance reports as needed
- Support quality improvement initiatives and unit goals
- Participate in staff education, meetings, and orientation of new personnel
Decision Making & Working Relationships:
- Exercises independent judgment in daily operations
- Leads peers performing similar work (non-supervisory)
- Collaborates closely with physicians, healthcare professionals, internal teams, and patients
- Provides input on performance evaluations
Education & Licensure:
Required:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing (diploma or degree)
- Valid multi-state or Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS & ACLS from AHA.
- CNOR certification
Required Skills & Experience:
- 1–2 years of Charge nurse / Supervisor experience
- Ortho and Neuro experience required (circulating in Neuro and Ortho cases is required)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication (written and verbal)
- Crisis intervention and triage skills
- Knowledge of patient safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and hospital policies
- Ability to analyze complex situations and make sound decisions
