Job Location: Shreveport, LA 71103
Duration: 3 months+ (Possibilities of Extension)
Shift: 14:30 – 23:00 (8 hours)
Job Summary:
Acts as a leader in delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and professional standards. Delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members effectively. Takes accountability for quality patient outcomes while respecting cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity. Contributes to unit and department strategic goals and supports the company’s nursing philosophy.

Education & Experience:
- Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as an RN.
Certifications:
- Current RN license in the practicing state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
- Preferred: Certification in clinical specialty area.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Proficient with computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear, professional interaction.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe and effective patient care.
- Assess patient and family learning needs; implement tailored teaching strategies.
- Delegate and manage nursing team resources responsibly; act as a leader and team partner.
- Use data to evaluate care and promote changes for optimal outcomes.
- Foster customer satisfaction, employee morale, and nursing professional growth.
- Adapt communication and care approaches respectfully to patient populations.
- Remain current with federal, state, and local healthcare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards to ensure compliance.
- Participate in maintaining a culture of compliance, safety, privacy, and ethical conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Perform heavy physical work including lifting/moving 10 to 100 pounds depending on the task.
- Work involves prolonged standing, walking, and fast-paced activities.
- Routine exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and potential communicable diseases.
- Occupational exposure risks related to hazardous medications and waste management in a healthcare setting.
