Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Position Summary:
The competent RN practices independently in a clinical setting, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. Provides routine and complex nursing care with focus on both immediate and long-term goals. Manages clinical contingencies effectively and delegates appropriately to support care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Provide nursing care consistent with ANA Standards of Practice using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation).
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
- Assess patient/family learning needs and provide education; identify relevant issues and resources.
- Make appropriate patient assignments and delegate tasks to care providers.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certification required.
- Current PALS (AHA) certification required.
- Current TNCC certification required.
- Valid RN license in Texas or Compact License.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience in a related specialty preferred.
Additional Position Requirements:
- Newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days.
- New hires will be precepted by trained staff and complete organizational competency validations.
- Newly licensed RNs may participate in residency or specific orientation programs.
- Completion of all annual competency verifications is required.
Schedule:
- 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
