Job Summary:
- Care for patients transitioning out of the ICU requiring more care and attention than patients on a general medical-surgical unit.
- Monitoring patients with medical equipment such as catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators and cardiac monitors.
- RN to patient ratio – 1:4, ranging from young adult to geriatric.
- Frequent patient assessments and proper escalation of a patient’s change in medical condition. Responding to cardiac arrest and rapid response codes. Null
Required Skills & Experience:
- Two (2) years of Medical/Surgical SD experience OR -Two (2) years of ICU experience.
- Two (2) years of IV Insertion & Phlebotomy experience.
- Two (2) years of Conscious Sedation experience.
- Demonstrates satisfactory completion of age specific competency.
Required Education:
- Associates Degree (ASN, ADN) from an accreditated Nursing Program.
- Evidence of graduation from an accredited National League of Nursing School.
- Baccalaureate degree or satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State RN License. -Primary Source Verification of License and Registration of Registered Professional Nurse from NYS Department of Education (NYSED).
- AHA BLS.
- AHA ACLS.
