Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Patient Navigator
Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Duration: 5+ months of contract
Schedule: 3 days per week, 20 hours per week
Shift: Monday & Wednesday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; Tuesday or Thursday 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
On-Call Required: No
Pay Range: $60 - $63 (Local and Travel contracts available)

Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in a related field (Surgery/Oncology)
- Strong understanding of surgical workflows and medical terminology
- Experience helping patients and families with care navigation
- Gastroenterology/Colorectal experience required
- Surgical experience preferred
- EPIC knowledge
- Experience triaging and answering clinical calls
- Good computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
Education Requirements:
- Nursing Diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Serves as an advocate and educator for patients and family members throughout the surgery and cancer care continuum.
- Provides competent clinical care during office visits and functions as a content expert within the specialty practice.
- Facilitates communication between patients and healthcare providers.
- Guides assigned patients through the healthcare system and addresses barriers to timely care.
- Coordinates diagnostic and therapeutic appointments while accommodating patient needs.
- Triages and responds to patient telephone calls and clinical inquiries.
- Prepares and manages patient records in accordance with practice standards.
- Connects patients with community resources, social support systems, and financial services as needed.
- Supports patients and families in coping with the psychological aspects of cancer care.
- Participates in practice hours and practice locations as required.
