Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
Location: Alexandria, LA 71301
Duration: 3+ Months | TemptoPerm possibility
 
Work Schedule: Days| 7 am – 7 pm | 3 x 12-hour shifts | 36 hours weekly
Schedule Requirements

• Weekends: Every other weekend
• On-Call: None

 
Job Summary:
The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.
 
Unit Details:

• Patient Population: Cardiac & Telemetry
• Unit Type: Telemetry (Not a Stepdown Unit)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 5:1 – 6:1 (based on staffing)
• Floating: May float if needed

Essential Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for effectiveness and side effects
• Document patient history, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social patient needs
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care plans and health management
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary staff, patients, and families
• Adhere to ANA Standards of Practice and ethical nursing guidelines

 
Required Licenses & Certifications:

• Active RN License (State or Compact)
• BLS (AHA required)
• ACLS (AHA required)

 
Preferred Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred

 
Preferred Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
