Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Location: Portland, ME 04102
Duration: 3 Months+
Position Details
- Specialty: MICU
- Shift Options: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
- Call Requirement: None

Float Requirement:
- May float to: Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, CTICU based on experience
- May float to IMC units (Intermediate Care) with 1:3 patient ratios
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 3 years ICU experience
Unit Details
- Unit Type: MICU (Medical ICU) with crossover to Neuro ICU
- Number of Beds: 32 total (20 Medical ICU, 12 Neuro ICU)
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- EMR System: EPIC
Required Certifications
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- NIHSS – National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale
Patient Population
- Patients with complications from:
- Sepsis
- Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)
- Gastrointestinal Bleeds
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Other critical medical conditions
