The Med/Surg RN provides direct, individualized bedside care using the nursing process. Core responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care

• Administering medications via oral, subQ, and IV routes

• Monitoring for and reporting adverse reactions to medications/treatments

• Educating patients pre- and post-surgery

• Recording vital signs and medical histories

• Operating and interpreting specialized monitoring equipment

• Responding to acute changes and life-threatening situations

• Wound care, catheter insertion, IV starts

• Assisting physicians with exams and treatments

• Teaching patients and families about home care and illness management

• Discharge planning and documentation

• Adhering to time management, charting standards, and facility protocols

• License:

  • Active Tennessee RN License or valid Compact Multi-State RN License
    (Must be attached to resume)

• Certifications (All AHA only):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    (All must be submitted with application)

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
