Travel: RN Med Surg Nights

The Med/Surg RN is responsible for delivering direct, individualized nursing care based on scientific nursing principles in a hospital setting. The role supports patients before and after surgery and requires the ability to handle a broad range of medical needs, including occasional pediatric/adolescent care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.

• Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, and IV routes; monitor and report adverse reactions.

• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-discharge care.

• Monitor vital signs, maintain accurate patient records, and interpret electronic equipment data.

• Provide bedside care for medical, surgical, and pediatric/adolescent patients.

• Perform nursing procedures: IV starts, catheter insertions, dressing changes, etc.

• Assist physicians with exams and treatments.

• Respond to emergencies using established nursing protocols.

• Participate in patient discharge planning and education.

• Float between Riverton and Lander campuses as needed based on census.

• Licensure:

  • Active Wyoming RN license or multi-state compact RN license (attached to resume).

• Certifications (Must be through the American Heart Association):

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    (All certifications must be attached to the submission packet.)

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital setting.

• Other:

  • Must be comfortable providing care to pediatric/adolescent patients (no dedicated peds unit at facility).

  • Must be flexible to float between Riverton and Lander campuses if needed.

  • Submission must include the SageWest coversheet.
