Job Summary:
This role acts as a leader in providing patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Product & Standards of Practice. The nurse effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members. They assume accountability for quality patient outcomes and exhibit sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions. The nurse maintains involvement in activities aimed toward achieving unit and department strategic goals and objectives. They demonstrate professional responsibility and accountability for their own practice while supporting the company’s philosophy of nursing. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education:
- Required: Registered nurse diploma.
- Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant nursing experience.
Certifications:
- Required: Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to be self-directed.

Job Duties:
- Effectively use the nursing process in delivering patient care.
- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and interdisciplinary groups.
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly. Serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and professional nursing improvement.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, communication style, and cultural considerations.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Remain knowledgeable of current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to the assigned area and ensure compliance.

Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Physical demands exceed those for sedentary work and include walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and working at a production rate pace.
- Routine exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue is expected.
- Work is performed in patient care areas where there is potential exposure to communicable diseases.
- Occupational risk of exposure to hazardous medications or waste may occur depending on job duties.
