Process Level Department Description: Client Health Wayne---Labor & Delivery---6-bed department with one C-section OR. Duties: Manage laboring patients, circulate and assist in C-sections, and recover both labor and surgical patients. Unit averages 100 deliveries monthly, working with both OBGYNs and midwives. Duties:
Job Summary:
Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
Job Responsibilities:
-Identify and meet personal learning needs; attend relevant education programs.
-Use patient education materials and assess readiness to learn.
-Identify patient outcomes and revise care plans as needed.
-Collaborate with team to evaluate care and ensure continuity.
-Provide safe, competent care for patients with complex needs.
-Perform point-of-care testing and follow standards and policies.
-Organize and prioritize care; consult resources for complex issues.
-Set and achieve professional growth goals; support unit objectives.
-Communicate effectively and give feedback to coworkers.
-Promote safety, cleanliness, and cost-effective care.
-Assess patient needs, anticipate discharge, and support family advocacy.
-Plan care collaboratively, using multidisciplinary resources and cultural awareness.
-Stay informed through journals and share ideas for practice improvement.
