RN Medicine Specialty - FS

Job Title: RN Medicine Specialty FS
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift/Schedule: Nights, 312s, 36 hours/week; every other weekend, rotating holidays
Pay rate: $65/hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients

• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments

• Note and implement changes in physician orders for assigned patients

• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments

• Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient condition and intervene as needed

• Administer medications as prescribed, including IV infusions and blood products

• Deliver competent and safe patient care

• Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge

• Educate patients and families on hospital procedures

• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel

• Delegate tasks to support staff

• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience

• Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

• Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact RN license (eNLC)

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and procedures

• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

• Basic computer skills

Preferences:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher

• Med-Surg and Stepdown experience
