The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care using specialized knowledge, clinical judgment, and nursing skills. Care is delivered to individuals and groups based on principles of biological, physical, behavioural, social, and nursing sciences. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in alignment with the organization’s care model, which emphasizes collaboration among patients, families, and the healthcare team. All care is culturally sensitive and age appropriate. To adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics and practices in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs using the Professional Practice Model.
- Identify signs, symptoms, and relevant clinical data to determine actual or potential nursing diagnoses.
- Report abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to the physician and charge RN promptly.
- Utilize structured handoff tools to communicate critical patient information effectively.
- Evaluate patient, family, and environmental safety risks and implement preventive measures.
- Analyse assessment data to prioritize patient problems and care needs.
- Develop and update individualized, multidisciplinary care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
- Establish measurable, outcome-focused goals for each identified problem.
- Communicate care plans using standardized tools such as SBAR during handoffs and team discussions.
- Initiate discharge planning at admission and coordinate appropriate referrals.
- Participate in shift reports and interdisciplinary care conferences.
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
- Execute and delegate nursing interventions appropriately, demonstrating accountability and clinical judgment.
- Provide individualized education to patients and families based on their needs and care plans.
- Review physician orders critically and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams as needed.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations with skill and precision.
- Implement infection control and safety measures, including proper use of protective equipment.
- Continuously assess and evaluate patient outcomes against established care plans and evidence-based standards.
- Adjust care plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize electronic medical records and clinical guidelines to support care evaluation and documentation.
- 1 Year of experience in RN Float Pool.
- Diploma of Nursing or BSN Required
- Ohio RN license or Compact
- BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
