Registered Nurse (RN) - Nurse Educator
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Nurse Educator
Location: Bronx, NY - 10451
Contract Duration: 3+ Months (Strong potential for extension)
Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 5 days/week (40 hrs/week)
Pay Range: $74 – $77/hr. on W2
Role Overview:
The RN – Nurse Educator provides clinical education and support across inpatient Maternal Child Health units, including Labor & Delivery (L&D), NICU, Mother-Baby Unit (MBU), and Pediatrics. The role focuses on staff education, skills reinforcement, and maintaining high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide coverage and education for inpatient MCH units: L&D, NICU, Postpartum, MBU, and Pediatrics.
- Support training and competency development for staff in Labor & Delivery and related MCH areas.
- Deliver education on clinical procedures, patient care protocols, and best practices.
- Maintain documentation of educational activities and staff progress.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for nursing staff in MCH units.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program.
- Master’s in Education strongly preferred.
- Active NYS RN License.
- Primary Source Verification through NYS Department of Education (NYSED).
- AHA BLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience required.
- At least 2 years Med/Surg experience.
- Strong clinical background in maternal-child care settings.
- Ability to educate, mentor, and support nursing staff.
- Strong knowledge of inpatient MCH clinical procedures.
- Effective communication, organization, and teaching skills.
Additional Notes:
- Candidate must have strong L&D skills and prior hands-on experience in NICU, Postpartum, and related units.
- Coverage will span multiple inpatient areas, so flexibility and clinical competency across MCH settings are essential.
