Job Summary:
Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. The RN reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and meet personal learning needs; attend relevant education programs
• Use patient education materials and assess readiness to learn
• Identify patient outcomes and revise care plans as needed
• Collaborate with team to evaluate care and ensure continuity
• Provide safe, competent care for patients with complex needs
• Perform point-of-care testing according to standards and policies
• Organize and prioritize care; consult resources for complex issues
• Set and achieve professional growth goals; support unit objectives
• Communicate effectively and give feedback to coworkers
• Promote safety, cleanliness, and cost-effective care
• Assess patient needs, anticipate discharge, and support family advocacy
• Plan care collaboratively using multidisciplinary resources and cultural awareness
• Stay informed through journals and share ideas for practice improvement

 
Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience

Education Requirements:

• Nursing Diploma OR ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
• Preferred: BSN or MSN

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• RN License in the state of North Carolina
• BLS (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS
• CPI-A
