Location: Saint Joseph, MI 49085
Duration: 3 + Months (Possibilities of Extension)
Shift: Days, variable start times
Hours: 10-hour shifts, guaranteed 36 hours/week
Weekend Rotation: Yes, on-call for 2 weekends every 6 weeks
Scrub Color: Provided
Job Summary:
Provide responsible and accountable nursing care consistent with the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards and Michigan State regulations. Deliver care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Maintain ethical and culturally sensitive practice, effective communication, leadership, evidence-based care, and quality standards to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Job Summary:

Education Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Nursing – Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Must be obtained within 5 years of starting RN role (based on hire date)
Experience and Skills:
- Successful completion of competency-based orientation
- Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, make quality decisions, and solve problems
- Competency in various computer systems and software
- Maintain confidentiality and work efficiently under pressure
Licenses & Certifications:
- Michigan RN License (required upon hire)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA or ARC (required within 90 days)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA (required within 180 days or 2 years depending on role)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (required within 90 days)
Essential Functions:
- Provide evidence-based nursing care consistent with interprofessional plans and regulatory standards
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members
- Advocate for patients and families; ensure privacy and confidentiality
- Perform patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Initiate discharge planning and facilitate smooth care transitions
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation
- Delegate tasks appropriately to ensure safe and quality care delivery
- Engage in professional development and quality improvement activities
- Participate actively in safety initiatives and complete required competencies
- Perform other duties as assigned
