Position Description
The Med/Surg RN provides individualized bedside nursing care using evidence-based clinical practices. Responsibilities include:

Coordinating with the healthcare team to develop and evaluate care plans

Administering and documenting medications (oral, subQ, IV)

Monitoring and operating specialized equipment
-
Educating patients pre- and post-surgery
-
Performing patient assessments and responding to adverse symptoms
-
Starting IVs, inserting catheters, changing dressings
-
Participating in emergency interventions as needed
-
Educating patients and families on post-treatment care and home instructions
-
Maintaining clear, complete, and timely documentation
-
Supporting discharge planning and follow-up
Facility Requirements

License:

Active Texas RN License or Compact Multi-State RN License
