Shift Time: 3 shifts/week
Night - 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM
Local Pay: $80/hr. on W2
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at a leading medical facility. This contract position offers a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced critical care environment, providing critical care to newborns facing serious health challenges such as prematurity, low birth weight, respiratory distress, congenital disorders, or infections, responsible for closely monitoring patients, administering medication and treatments, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at a leading medical facility. This contract position offers a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced critical care environment, providing critical care to newborns facing serious health challenges such as prematurity, low birth weight, respiratory distress, congenital disorders, or infections, responsible for closely monitoring patients, administering medication and treatments, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
Responsibilities Include:
- Continuously assess and monitor the infant’s vital signs (heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, temperature, and blood pressure) using specialized equipment.
- Safely administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and other treatments according to the neonate’s care plan.
- Deliver critical care to premature or ill newborns, including support for breathing (ventilators, CPAP), feeding (tube or IV), and thermoregulation.
- Record all care provided, changes in condition, and responses to treatment in detailed nursing notes and electronic health records.
- Offer emotional support, education, and guidance to parents and families, helping them understand their baby’s condition and involving them in care where appropriate.
- Work closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, respiratory therapists, and other specialists to provide coordinated care.
- Maintain strict hygiene and infection prevention protocols to protect immunocompromised infants from hospital-acquired infections.
- Respond quickly and effectively to neonatal emergencies such as apnea, bradycardia, or respiratory distress.
- Support the baby’s neurodevelopment through gentle handling, minimizing noise/light, and positioning for comfort and growth.
Required Certifications & Licence:
- Minimum 1 year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in a NICU setting.
- Active RN State License
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NRP
