Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – OR
Location: Kenner, LA 70056
Duration: 3 Months+ (Possible Extension)
Shift: 6:15 PM – 2:45 AM
Call Required: Yes
ACLS: Not required (documentation needed for submission)
Position Overview:
This RN role focuses on leadership in patient care within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and organizational standards. The RN will delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary staff, assume accountability for patient outcomes, and participate in strategic goals for the unit and department.
Education:
- Required: Registered Nurse Diploma
- Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Experience:

Required:
- Experience handling confidential information
- Experience in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision

Preferred:
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Basic computer skills
Certifications:

Required:
- Current RN License in state of practice
- BLS (American Heart Association)

Preferred:
- Certification in clinical specialty area

Primary Job Duties:
- Deliver patient care using the Nursing Process
- Assess learning needs and provide patient/family education
- Lead and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal)
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
- Use data to evaluate and improve patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and accreditation standards
- Participate in quality improvement and customer satisfaction initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Heavy work: lifting/moving 50–100 lbs occasionally, 25–50 lbs frequently, 10–20 lbs constantly
- Requires walking, standing, pushing/pulling materials, maintaining production pace
- Routine exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, hazardous medications, and waste
- Occupational risk for communicable diseases
