Job Summary:
The Occupational Health Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and safety of employees in the workplace. This role involves conducting health assessments, managing work-related injuries, coordinating wellness programs, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-employment and annual health assessments, immunizations, and screenings.
- Manage employee injuries and illnesses, including treatment, documentation, and follow-up.
- Administer vaccinations, TB testing, and drug/alcohol testing as required.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records.
- Provide health education and counselling to employees.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Support return-to-work evaluations and case management for occupational injuries.
- Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Environmental Health departments on wellness and safety initiatives.
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in CA
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience (Occupational Health, Employee Health, or Public Health preferred).
- BLS/CPR Certification – American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of OSHA guidelines, workplace health, and safety standards of Worker's Compensation and CA state laws
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN/COHN-S).
- Experience with workers’ compensation and case management.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
