Job Duration: 3 months+ Contract (Possible Extension)
 
General Description
Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex. Responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
 
Essential Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; records changes in physician orders.
• Assists physicians with patient examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data; observes patient conditions and intervenes as necessary.
• Administers medications as prescribed.
• Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers competent, evidence-based patient care.
• Communicates and collaborates with patients and families regarding care plans, hospitalization, and discharge planning.
• Educates patients and families on hospital procedures and care needs.
• Refers patient care needs to appropriate healthcare personnel.
• Delegates tasks appropriately to support staff.

 
General Responsibilities:

• Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
• Strong clinical judgment and application of nursing techniques.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with team members.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to diverse cultural and language needs.
• Basic computer proficiency.
