Shift Details:

Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
-
4-5 call shifts per month
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care using the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies to monitor and evaluate patient functional status.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Provide nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process.
-
Complete assessments and individualize care plans per unit guidelines.
-
Deliver care with consideration for cultural, psychosocial factors, and patient age.
-
Organize, prioritize, and perform nursing skills appropriate for the patient population.
-
Anticipate patient and unit needs.
-
Apply knowledge of bio-psychosocial factors in patient care.
-
Delegate and communicate effectively and appropriately.
-
Demonstrate professional judgment responding to changing patient/unit situations.
-
Document nursing process and care steps accurately and legibly.
-
Use correct medical terminology and abbreviations.
-
Address patient problems and monitor progress toward outcomes per policy.
-
Facilitate patient discharge teaching.
-
Make timely and appropriate referrals.
-
Plan and present patient education considering patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
-
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
-
Support unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and education.
-
Attend mandatory in-services and meet unit education standards.
-
Accurately complete variance reports.
Decision Making:

Exercise independent judgment in planning and minor decisions in a complex professional setting.
Working Relationships:

Work directly with patients and internal/external customers.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals and staff.
Required Skills & Experience:
-
0 to 6 months related nursing experience.
-
Knowledge of disease state management, bio-psychosocial models, and clinical pathways.
-
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
-
Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
-
Detail-oriented in examining clinical and numerical data.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-
Experience with Epic electronic health records system.
Education Requirements:
-
Completion of an accredited nursing program approved by a state board of nursing with a diploma or degree.
Certification & Licensure:
-
Valid multi-state or Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
-
Basic Life Support (BLS).
-
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
-
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required for South Campus.
Preferred Certification:
-
ACLS
