Location: Detroit, MI 48236
Duration: 3 Months+ contract (Possible Extension)
Schedule Notes: 19:00 - 07:30, Every other weekend, every other holiday, no call, no block scheduling available

- At least 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg-Tele unit required
- Prior experience with Geriatric patients Strongly preferred *NIHSS Cert Strongly preferred
- Will be working on Product (Acute Care of Elderly) unit
- 60+ year old Patients
- 1:5 Ratio
- Stroke Overflow unit
- Diverse patient population
Job Summary:
- Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
- Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- BLS
Skills:
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department to which staff is assigned.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
