Scrub Technician

Job Title: Travel Scrub Technician / Surgical Technologist
Location: Charleston, SC
Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension)
Pay range - $55/hr - $60/hr.(Travel/Perdiem pay is also available) 
 
Schedule Notes:

• 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
• Day Shift: 6:30am to 3pm
• 2 weekday calls and every 3rd-4th weekend call

 
Job Summary:
Provide safe care for patients while adhering to professional and hospital standards. Act as a support during surgical procedures (but not as a surgical assistant), maintain asepsis, and assist in patient care planning and coordination.
 
Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians and nurses.
• Perform scrubbing duties during surgeries and maintain aseptic conditions.
• Ensure proper handling of surgical equipment and supplies.
• Communicate patient information to appropriate team members.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and support teamwork.
• Assist in training and orienting new staff.

 
Skills & Requirements:

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Surgical technology certification (NBSTSA or NCCT required).
• Clinical operating room experience preferred (1+ year).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to handle physical demands (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, etc.).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under stress.

 
Additional Requirements:

• Must meet one of the following:
• Complete an accredited surgical technology program and hold current certification.
• Military training as a surgical technologist.
• Prior employment as a surgical technologist in the state before January 1, 2008.
• Federal government service in a related field.
