Pay Range: Up to $70/hr on w2
Schedule: 12*3 schedule – Days & Nights available

Duties:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate medical information and provide direct, individualized bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
- Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed and interpret/record measurements.
- Monitor patients’ vitals and report adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning.
- Answer questions and educate patients and families about surgical procedures and post-operative care.
- Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records.
- Adhere to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.
Required Skills & Experience:
Acute Facilities:
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting.
- Most recent experience should be within the past year.
Post-Acute Facilities:
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience in either a post-acute facility or an acute care hospital setting.
- Most recent experience should be within the past year.
Proficiency in the following areas:
- Physical assessment
- Medication administration
- Wound care & infection control
- IV therapy
- Post-operative care
- Patient education
- Telemetry monitoring
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- EPIC EMR experience
Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institute
- Self-Assessment Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam for Med/Surg
Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State RN License & Primary Source Verification
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
