General Description:
Under general supervision provides nursing care in a hospital setting to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

General Description:
Under general supervision provides nursing care in a hospital setting to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures/treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients; observe manifestations and intervene as needed.
- Administer medications as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently and safely.
- Interact with patients and families to explain care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.
