Schedule Notes: Med-Surg experience required. Stepdown, post-surgical, or trauma/ortho experience preferred.
General Description:
Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital setting to a variety of patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex.
Essential Responsibilities:
Core responsibilities of this position include the following. Inability to perform these duties, with or without accommodation, may disqualify a candidate:

Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.

Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.

Record all changes in physician orders for assigned patients.
-
Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.

Monitor and obtain physiological data; observe and intervene in patient status changes as needed.

Administer medications as prescribed, including IV infusions and blood products.

Deliver competent patient care.
-
Interact with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions.

Educate patients and families about hospital procedures.
-
Refer patients to appropriate personnel for additional care needs.
-
Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff.
General Responsibilities:

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
-
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and techniques.

Ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services effectively.
-
Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships.

Excellent verbal and written communication.
-
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs.
-
Basic computer skills.
Preferred Experience:
-
Stepdown, post-surgical, or trauma/orthopedic experience.
Education Requirements:
-
Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
-
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
Licensure & Certifications:
-
Required:
-
Current RN license from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
-
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
