Location: San Diego, CA 92104
Duration: 13 Weeks
Projected Start Date: September 15, 2025
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (No weekends)
Payrate: $75.00/ hr on w2
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Job Summary:
- The RN Infection Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring high-quality infection prevention and control practices throughout the facility.
- This role involves collaboration with physicians, department managers, and staff to manage infectious or immunosuppressed patients effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and procedures across departments.

Establish and operate surveillance systems for detecting hospital-acquired and community infections.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

Provide regular policy updates and education to staff and physicians.

Investigate infection outbreaks or clusters and recommend corrective actions.

Analyze bacteriology and infection data to suggest containment strategies for resistant microorganisms.

Participate in Infection Control Committees and collaborate with health departments for disease reporting and control.

Conduct regular audits and serve as a resource for infection prevention guidance.

Participate in or lead staff training on infection control topics such as TB, HIV, Hepatitis, and Universal Precautions.

Educate patients when necessary.
Requirements:

Experience:
-
Minimum 2 years RN experience in Infection Control.
-
Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) experience required.

Licensure/Certifications (Required at submission):

Valid California RN License
-
BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
