Job Title: Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Albany, NY
Duration: 6 weeks with possible extension
Pay range - $60/hr. - 65/hr.
Schedule Notes:
Work Hours: 36 hours per week (12-hour shifts)
Shift Timing: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced travel nurses to manage high-acuity patients requiring advanced care. This unit serves medically fragile and surgically complex individuals, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, multi-system organ dysfunction, traumatic injuries, and complex post-operative needs. Nurses must be confident in critical thinking and autonomous decision-making while following titration and care protocols.

Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced travel nurses to manage high-acuity patients requiring advanced care. This unit serves medically fragile and surgically complex individuals, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, multi-system organ dysfunction, traumatic injuries, and complex post-operative needs. Nurses must be confident in critical thinking and autonomous decision-making while following titration and care protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor care for patients with critical medical and surgical conditions
- Administer and titrate pressors, antihypertensives, sedatives, and thrombolytics
- Utilize advanced respiratory support including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxypendent therapy
- Manage and monitor a-line, CVP, EVD, and other hemodynamic tools
- Follow infection prevention protocols strictly
- Document care in EPIC (EMR system)
- Effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Handle an average patient load of 3 high acuity individuals
- EPIC Experience: Required
- AHA BLS & ACLS Certification: Required
- Active NY State RN license
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in large-scale adult PCU or community hospital ICU (Required)
- Education: Active RN license (Willing to review pending state license on a case-by-case basis)
- Clinical Proficiency: Advanced hemodynamic monitoring, critical care titration, and ventilatory support techniques
