On-Call Requirements:
- Call is required with a 30 min response time.
- The number of calls are variable.
- Call requirements must meet the needs of the department.
Experience Requirements:
- 2 YEARS ACUTE CARE O.R. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - do not submit without.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program – Required.
- BSN - Highly desired.
- PALS, BLS & ACLS – Required.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state/district - Required.
Job Description:
- The operating room nurse is responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures; department admissions to the operative suite.
- Adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques.
- Consults and coordinates with team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans.
- Serves as a communication liaison to patients, families, and member of the operating team.
- Prepares the operating room for the patient and surgical procedure.
- Assembles equipment, supplies, and ensures equipment is functional, and supplies/implants are available.
