Description:
- The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population.
Responsibility:
- Assist in monitoring maternal and fetal health during labor.
- Administer medications such as epidurals, pain management, and other prescribed treatments.
- Support patients during vaginal and caesarean deliveries.
- Assist physicians and midwives during labor and delivery, including performing vaginal exams and helping with deliveries.
- Assist in preparing and sterilizing the delivery room or birth center for labor and delivery.
- Respond to any emergencies that arise during labor or delivery, such as fetal distress, maternal hemorrhage, or emergency C-sections.
Experience and skill:
- Labor and delivery experience
- EPIC
- C-EFM required
- circulating and PACU
Certifications & Licenses:
- BLS –(AHA)
- RN license
- NRP
- Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.
