May be required to float to units of equal or lower acuity as needed
Job Summary
Provides and coordinates quality, compassionate patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, and helps resolve variances in patient care plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver, delegate, and supervise patient care
- Educate patients and families
- Document care accurately
- Communicate patient information to the healthcare team
- Identify and help resolve care plan issues
Education & Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Michigan RN license
- BLS certification (AHA)
- BSN preferred
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical (med-surg) experience
- Strong clinical and analytical skills
- Ability to provide a wide range of nursing services
- Effective communication with patients, families, and staff
Preferred:
- At least 1 year of surgical floor experience

Assignment Details
- Schedule: 36 hours/week (12 hours/day, 3 days/week)
- Overtime after 48 hours

- Floating may be required (including lockdown unit)
