Duties:
- Meets all eligibility requirements of a Registered Nurse I.
- Works under the supervision of the Director.
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individualized care in a patient care area according to departmental policies and procedures and Nurse Practice Act.
- Individualizes patient care based on age-appropriate and developmental needs.
- Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers in implementing the plan of care.
- Collaborates with physicians, patients/families, and members of the healthcare team in delivering a plan of care.
- Utilizes positive communication skills.
- May be required to work on other nursing units based on staffing and patient distribution.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the unit.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completes nursing assessment and documents appropriately in the patient record.
- Develops a care plan based on assessment, age, and developmental needs.
- Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team in care planning.
- Provides, delegates, and coordinates care plan implementation.
- Initiates, manages, and participates in discharge planning.
- Initiates, manages, and participates in patient/family teaching.
- Implements care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Evaluates and updates patient response to the care plan.
- Maintains professional standards through in-services, committee work, and performance improvement.
- Facilitates physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual care of the patient.
- Utilizes positive communication to promote conflict resolution and teamwork.
- Contributes to cost-effective care by monitoring time, equipment, and supply usage.
- Complies with safety policies to ensure a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors.
- Demonstrates flexibility with changes in hospital or unit activities.
- Demonstrates age-specific competencies in patient care.
- Acts as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.
- Actively participates in achieving departmental goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills:
Required:
- Chemo Certification.
- AHA BLS Certification.
- Minimum of 4 years’ oncology experience.
- Minimum of 1 year travel experience in the specialty applied for.
- Epic Experience (minimum 6–12 months within the past year).
- Infusion experience – Strongly Preferred.
- Open to floating within cluster/similar departments – Highly Desirable.
- OCN Certification.
- RN experience in an Infusion Center.
- No RTO preferred during 9/15 – 11/26. All requests will be reviewed.
