Job Title: RN Medicine - Pediatrics - FS
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Duration: 3+ Months (Possible Extension)
 
General Description:
Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to patients with a range of health problems, from simple to complex.
 
Essential Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; record all changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient manifestations and intervene as necessary.
• Administer medications as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care.
• Interact with patients and families to share the care plan during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
• Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other staff.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
• Basic computer skills.
