Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (Clinical Nurse I–IV) is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care tailored to the specific age and needs of the patient population served. The RN ensures high-quality, efficient, and safe care in alignment with unit and organizational standards. The role requires consistent demonstration of professional performance that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization. The nurse fosters an environment of respect and collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
Certification/Licenses:
-
Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
-
BLS and ACLS (AHA certified)
-
TNCC required
Skills:
-
Current clinical knowledge appropriate to the patient population served
-
Awareness and sensitivity to patients’ rights in care delivery
-
Strong communication skills suited to diverse developmental age groups
Experience:
Relevant clinical experience preferred.
Supervision
Reports to: Patient Care Director or Manager
Environment

Bloodborne Pathogen Category C (OR, PACU, L&D) or Category B (other patient care areas)

Potential exposure to infectious diseases and x-rays

Clean, well-lit, ventilated, smoke-free environment

May encounter stressful professional interactions and variable hours due to emergencies or schedule changes
Physical Requirements

Ability to manage emergency and crisis situations

Prolonged standing and walking

Heavy physical effort for patient or equipment positioning and transfer

Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching

Good visual and hearing acuity (normal or correctable)

Ability to judge distances, distinguish colors, and maintain spatial awareness
