RN-Outpatient Infusion
Job Title: Registered Nurse II – Outpatient Infusion
Location: Salinas, California
Schedule: 40 hours/week (4 x 10-hour shifts)
Shift : Days
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse II (RN II) functions under the supervision of the Director and meets all eligibility requirements of a Registered Nurse I. This role is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising individualized patient care in an outpatient infusion setting.
The RN II provides age-appropriate care for adult patients and collaborates with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care. This role also includes guiding and directing support staff in executing patient care plans while maintaining compliance with departmental policies and the Nurse Practice Act.
Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care

Administer outpatient infusion therapies including:
-
Chemotherapy & immunotherapy, Hydration therapy, Iron infusions, Blood product, IVIG, Antibiotics, Chemo injections

Monitor patients for reactions and manage complications appropriately

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize care plans

Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and side effects

Supervise and delegate tasks to clinical support staff

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR

Float to other units/departments as needed based on staffing requirements

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards

Perform other duties as assigned
Patient Population
-
Adults only- Ambulatory outpatient setting
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications:
-
Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License
-
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
-
Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification (ONS – Oncology Nursing Society)
Experience:
-
Minimum 6–12 months of recent EPIC experience (within the past year)
-
Must have outpatient chemotherapy/infusion experience
-
Minimum 1 year of clinical RN experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
-
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification (preferred but not required)
-
Experience in clinical oncology or specialty infusion settings
Education
-
Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
-
Graduate from an accredited nursing program
-
BSN preferred
