Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology (Surgical)

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology (Surgical)
Location: Dallas, TX 75001
Duration: 3 Months+ (Possible Extension)
 
Shift: Days or Nights, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week

Block schedule available – any 3 consecutive days upon request.

General Description:
Under general supervision, the RN provides nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, including changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures or treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data and observe patient conditions, intervening when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Deliver patient care competently and safely
• Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge
• Educate patients and families on hospital procedures
• Refer patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff when appropriate

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of RN Oncology /Medsurg oncology experience in a hospital experience.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

 
Required Certifications:

• BLS, ACLS from AHA and ONS/ONCC Certification.
• RN Oklahoma state license/ Multistate license.
