Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Stroke Unit)
Location: Towson, MD
Contract Duration: 3 Months+
Shift: Nights – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
Hours: 36 hours/week guaranteed
Pay Rate: $58/hr. on W2
Unit: Stroke Unit
Position Summary:
Facility is seeking a skilled Med Surg/Telemetry RN to join their Stroke Unit. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from stroke and other telemetry-monitored conditions. This role demands clinical precision, rapid decision-making, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with nursing standards and client policies
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and neurological changes in stroke patients
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Accurately document care, patient progress, and changes in condition
- Respond promptly to critical changes in patient status
- Provide patient/family education and emotional support
- Float to care for telemetry patients as needed
- 2+ years recent Med Surg and Telemetry experience – REQUIRED
- 2+ years experience with stroke patients – REQUIRED
- NIHSS certification via [NIHStrokeScale.org] – REQUIRED
- ACLS and BLS (AHA) – REQUIRED
- Maryland RN license or Compact License – REQUIRED
