Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of an identified group of patients in the ambulatory specialty clinics. The RN demonstrates competency in delivering care primarily to an adult population, ensuring that the patient care provided aligns with professional nursing standards. Responsibilities may include administering medications, telephone triage, providing patient and family education, and coordinating complex patient care needs.

Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of an identified group of patients in the ambulatory specialty clinics. The RN demonstrates competency in delivering care primarily to an adult population, ensuring that the patient care provided aligns with professional nursing standards. Responsibilities may include administering medications, telephone triage, providing patient and family education, and coordinating complex patient care needs.
Responsibility:
- Conducting telephone triage to assess patient needs and provide appropriate advice or guidance.
- Administering prescribed medications and treatments, as necessary.
- Providing patient and family education on conditions, procedures, and post-care instructions.
- Coordinating and managing patient care, ensuring continuity and communication across all healthcare providers.
- Performing vascular access procedures, phlebotomy, and other clinical tasks as required.
- Utilizing teach-back methods to ensure patient understanding of care instructions.
- Conducting point-of-care testing and assisting with procedure-specific instruments and equipment.
- Using electronic health records (EHR) and other technologies essential to care delivery.
- A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in an applicable field, with experience in ambulatory or outpatient settings preferred.
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies necessary for the clinic setting.
- Ability to conduct both focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, either in person or via telephone, based on the specific practice setting and patient population.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when planning and delivering nursing care and addressing patient care issues.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with patients and families, offering compassionate care and support.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the clinic and patient care delivery.
Certifications & Licenses:
- RN license – Required
- BLS (AHA)
- current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License
