Duration:
13 weeks
Shift/Schedule:
36 hours/week
12-hour shifts, 3 days/week
Schedule Notes: Must have travel experience; must have step-down experience. This is a Med/Surg surgical unit (not OR). Acute care surgical floor experience required. ENT and/or Transplant experience preferred. Ratios: 5–6:1 for surgical patients; 3–4:1 for step-down care.
Pay Rate:
$65/hour
Job Responsibilities:

Provide nursing care to a variety of patients with simple to complex health conditions.

Manage an assigned group of patients.

Document patient responses and changes in condition; update physician orders as needed.

Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor procedures.

Obtain, monitor, and respond to physiological data.

Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products.
-
Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans with patients and families.

Educate patients and families on hospital procedures and discharge processes.

Refer patient needs to appropriate personnel.

Delegate tasks to support staff.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
-
Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
-
Must have Med/Surg and acute care surgical floor experience.
-
Must have step-down experience.
-
Must have travel nursing experience.
-
Experience with drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT/DHT, and post-op care required.

Education:
-
Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN).
-
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications/Licensure:
-
Active Oklahoma RN license or multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
-
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
-

Skills:
-
Strong knowledge of nursing theory, principles, and practices.
-
Ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
-
Effective communication skills.
-
Ability to work well with staff and respond to cultural/language needs.
-
Basic computer skills.
-
Preferences:
-
ENT or Transplant experience.
-
BSN preferred.
