Travel: RN - Surgery
Hiring: RN – Operating Room (Circulator)
Location: San Antonio, TX 78251
Contract Length: 3 Months
Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | 4x10s (40 hrs/week)
Pay: $85/hr (Travel)
Start Date: ASAP
Requirements
- Active RN License (TX or Compact State)
- BLS Certification (AHA only)
- Minimum 1 year OR Circulator experience required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
Schedule Details
- 4x10-hour shifts per week
- Weekend: Every other weekend call (2 weekends/month)
- Weekday: Rotating call coverage
Role Summary
The RN OR Circulator provides direct and comprehensive nursing care in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and supporting the surgical team. Independently manages routine and complex cases while addressing the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in accordance with ANA standards and facility protocols
- Perform assessments, diagnosis, planning, interventions, and evaluations for assigned patients
- Administer medications and treatments; monitor side effects and effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing care accurately
- Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and post-op care
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs to optimize outcomes
- Delegate and manage assignments for safe patient care delivery
